The Cry-Cries are a species of Fairy Animal which appear in Season 7.

Overview

The Cry-Cries are the most ancient animals of the prehistoric times. When Roxy got to know that the most ancient animal of the present is not the Fairy Animal with the Ultimate Power, then she suggested the Winx that maybe the Cry-Cries might be the Fairy Animal with the Ultimate Power. However, when Aisha with Squonk, the animal told the Winx that his species are not the one they are looking for.

Appearance

They bear some features from the koalas and sloths such as body shape and limbs. They have thick eyebrows and manes. Some of the Cry-Cries have their fur color coincide their mane color. The colors are varied. Their manes are also varied in both styles and colors.

Season 7

In "The First Color of the Universe", when Roxy got to know that the most ancient animal of the present is not the fairy animal with the Ultimate Power.

In "A Friend from the Past", she suggested the Winx that it is the Cry-Cry, the most ancient fairy animal of the Prehistoric Magix. She told the Winx that it is the only animal which does not blend itself with the environment in the prehistoric times. The Winx traveled back in time in order to save the cry-cry from the evil Brafilius who tried to abduct it. Aisha saved the animal with her Special Butterflix Power and had an emotional bond with it. She named it Squonk. Then, the animal told the Winx that his species are not the one they are looking for.

Magical Abilities

Whenever someone calls the cry-cry, "ugly", it starts to cry so loud and creates a great water flow from their eyes. They are very sensitive. Whenever the cry-cries say goodbye to each other, they scream very loud and whenever they see someone crying, they also start to cry. Everyone is afraid of them perhaps they cry very much that it creates a river of water from its eyes.

• The Cry-cries are called the "Cry-cries" because they cry almost every time, the main reason is being teased (called "ugly") by the others.
• The Cry-cries were inspired by the Squonk, a legendary creature of American folklore that lives in Pennsylvania in the United States. Deformed, avoid being seen by other animals; spends the whole day crying and when captured, they dissolved themselves in tears, thus escaping.
  • Another magical creature inspired by the legendary Squonk is the Squonk from PopPixie.
