Digsies are a species of Fairy Animal which appear in Season 7.
Overview[]
The Digsies are residents of the Adamantine MiniWorld and diamonds are their main diet.
Appearance[]
Their appearance is not unlike digmoles, except they have larger eyes, have straighter backs and more human-like proportions. They appear in three colors: green, red, and yellow. Cookie is the only yellow digsy, however.
Pre-Series[]
While preparing for the upcoming wedding celebration of the Adamantine MiniWorld's king and queen, diamonds that were utilized in the digsy cuisine had severely declined in harvest and the chef, Cookie had begun reducing its usage in their meals. The Royal Orchard that was once plentiful with diamonds was producing less due to a lack of magic though the digsies were not aware of this.

Season 7[]

In "The Kingdom of Diamonds," the wedding celebration underway and several digsies run with presents in their hands to the royal palace. They present the wedding presents to their king and queen. However, as banquet was ready to start, the monarchs command them to put them away to be opened later to focus on it. Cookie, the royal head chef, introduces each diamond dish but when he gets to the last one, the king and queen become angry as it lacked jewels and especially diamonds. Cookie tried to reason with his monarchs, explaining that there are no more diamonds left after they were used for the other dishes. The king and queen are in disbelief as their world is abundant in diamonds. The queen proceeds to punish Cookie: he is not permitted in the palace until he has enough diamonds to make one hundreds cakes. Defeated, Cookie hangs his head and drags himself out of the palace in order to begin working on the queen's demands.

Cookie then offers the Winx his help in guiding them to the Royal Orchard to search for the Ultimate Power (revealed to be a diamond by the king and queen). The Royal Orchard is a greenhouse and are taken care of by the gardeners to ensure diamonds are plentiful for their king and queen. Inside the orchard, Flora notes that the trees are not as lively as they should be and checks on the largest tree there. She learns that the reason why they are not producing diamonds is due to the lack of magic. Cookie is surprised that she could talk to trees. Flora responds confidentially and shows the digsies that she can also empower the trees, allowing them to return to a healthy state, which causes them to begin producing diamonds again. The ripe diamonds then float to the gardener digsies and Cookie. Cookie explains that ripe diamonds will float to someone who would take care of them. The gardener digsies thank the Winx for saving the orchard and the king and queen will be happy.

Flora then focuses on the largest tree and with all her might, empowers it with magic that it not only begins producing diamonds again but also formed the Ultimate Power. The Ultimate Power proceeds to amplify Flora's spell, which prevents her from controlling it. Its branches begin overgrowing and collapsing the orchard's roof putting the digsies in danger. The Winx focus their attention on the digsies' safety by keeping them in protection orbs. Flora then tries to using vines to support the ceiling but because the vines are half natural, Flora's powers are limited and the vines do not reach the ceiling. The ceiling's large crumbling pieces fall on top of Flora, trapping her. The Winx try to get her out but the diamonds, being the strongest rocks in the Adamantine MiniWorld, are highly resistant to magic.
The issues persists and even Stella's strongest magical attack could not penetrate the rocks that were trapping Flora. Cookie further explains that not only are the diamonds resistant but also deflects and amplifies the strength of spells that strike it. However, the Winx's fairy animals arrive and Amarok rescues Flora. Together, they further empower the largest tree to grow its branches upwards and further across the ceiling, stopping it from collapsing. This greatly surprised Cookie as he had never seen this kind of technique before. With the danger cleared, the gardener digsies are released from the protection orbs and run to Flora and Amarok to cheer for them.
The king and queen, along with their guards, enter the orchard to see what the commotion was all about. Cookie quickly gathers as many ripe diamonds as possible to show the monarchs. Flora then explains to them that she had used their own magic to restore and save the orchard. The king then sniffs the air noting the smell of perfume, which indicates ripe diamonds. He notices the ones in Cookie's hands and excitedly takes a bite. It is delicious and hands one to his queen, who is also happy to be able to taste ripe diamonds again. The king and queen thank the Winx for their efforts, although he almost forgot to thank Cookie. The king and queen invites the Winx to join their party but because they had other matters to attend to, the fairies politely decline the offer. The monarchs and digsies wave goodbye to the Winx as they leave.
Trivia[]
- Just like the other residents of the Adamantine MiniWorld, the digsies speak in French accent.
- The digsies are like a smaller version of the digmoles.
- They have some similarities to the real-life rodent known as the long-eared jerboa mostly because of their large ears, long tail, and feet.
