This article is about the Dream Dimension introduced in the comics. You may be looking for the World of Dreams from the World of Winx.

The Dream Dimension[2][3][4] is a dimension parallel to the Magic Dimension, which can be accessed through the house of the Guardian of Dreams, Doctor Morpheus.

Overview[]

The streets of Magix City were no different from the real city: only strange people wandered around it, namely, dreams. So, on the streets it is possible to meet a lady in a dress from past centuries, a man in a Batman costume, and even a werewolf tracking someone. If the dream or nightmare was large enough, even an entire region could appear in the reality of dreams, as in the case of Aisha, because of whose dream on the outskirts of Magix there appeared rocks and the vaults of Lord Darkar's cave castle.

Faragonda further explains that dreams are important for self equilibrium and it is place for venting, allowing people to face their fears and overcome them.[1]

Comics[]

Season 1[]

In Red Fountain, Codatorta explains that the fears and dreams of the inhabitants of different dimensions and realms can be embodied in real beings. Most of these monsters disappear when the person awakens, but in a small percentage of cases this does not happen - in which case these nightmares remain alive in the Dream Realm, through which they can penetrate Magix... and it is in Magix that the Specialists must intercept them and neutralize them, thereby ensuring the safety and protection of the city and schools.

During the search, the Specialists discover the skeleton of a mysterious animal and realize that it is the creature that Codatorta told them about. On the opposite bank of the swamp, the Specialists notice the Winx, who are looking for herbs needed for their studies. The Specialists try to signal them that they are in danger, but the fairies do not understand and come face to face with a huge mud monster .

This mud monster is someone's nightmare, lost between the reality of dreams and the real world. The fairies were able to defeat it with the help of the convergence of their magical powers.

Season 2[]

In order to deal with the unexpected nightmare epidemic and wake Aisha from her sleep, the Winx receive an invitation from Doctor Morpheus, who was contacted by Headmistress Faragonda a little earlier and asked for his help. He sets a meeting: "Tonight at nine, on any street between [thirteen] and [fifteen]... at the door that you will build." As soon as the fairies find the right place, they face a problem - the specified door does not exist. Reading the instructions, Bloom suddenly asks Tecna for a pencil, but Flora gives her a pencil instead. Bloom draws a door on the wall between houses thirteen and fifteenth with a pencil. The handle of the drawn door gives in, and the Winx go inside.

The fact that the Winx managed to find their way so quickly, according to Morpheus, means that they are independent and brave enough to figure everything out without his help, since the doctor has absolutely no time. He instructs them to return the box of fears and the barrel of nightmares.

When asked, Morpheus explains that fears cannot be put in a box, at least not in ordinary reality. However, this can be done in the dream reality, where they are now, by the way - here the doctor collects and puts away every fear and nightmare. Otherwise, if he did not do this, all people would be tormented by nightmares. The doctor has patients who need beautiful dreams of love, and just now he has finished a cure for them. Dr. Morpheus is able to change dreams, including helping people who do not see dreams. He claims that he makes all people happy.

Upon hearing about Aisha's case, the doctor, like Palladium, called it interesting, repeating the same conclusions that Faragonda and Palladium had made about the criminal's motives. In order to free Aisha from her nightmares, the Winx must find the criminal. When asked where to look and who, the doctor vaguely instructs them to follow their fears (to which the Winx slap their foreheads and roll their eyes).

The Winx return to the streets of Magix. However, noticing strangely dressed people, they understand that they are still in the world of dreams and see other people's dreams. Not only dreams, but also nightmares. They have to overcome their nightmares to see the way to Aisha's nightmare - Lord Darkar's castle, towering on the outskirts of the city of Magix in the middle of an abyss, was transferred to the reality of dreams. Aisha herself was imprisoned in a fortress, to which a rope bridge led, where she slept. When the fairies opened the heavy door and found her, Aisha freed herself and got out of the trap, disappearing before their eyes. After which the nightmare began to collapse, and the Winx ran away from the falling stones of the cave vaults.

Upon completion of the mission, Morpheus presented the fairies with a box of wondrous dreams.

In Issue 23: Return of the Trix Girls, the waters on Lake Roccaluce near the White Horse Café are not calm these days. When a married couple was boating, at first there was a pleasant breeze, but then something hit the side of their small vessel. They saw a tentacled monster in the water and hurried back to the shore to warn Red Fountain. Specialists must investigate this case. This was the third complaint in two days. Codatorta suspected that there really was something in the lake. He explains, "deep water causes terrible nightmares in many people. Most of them disappear when they wake up, but the rest... remain trapped in the Dream Dimension, and sooner or later they appear in Magix, the crossroads of all dimensions!" He then orders Sky's group to deal with the matter, however, the submarine is currently under repair, so they will start next week, and the guys still have a lot of other work.

In the end, the Specialists, collaborating with the Trix, save the Winx and the townspeople who got into an accident from the kraken. This time, the convergence of the witches' powers saves the situation.

In Issue 31: The Return of Princess Diaspro, Sky and Diaspro's heartfelt conversation is interrupted by a phone call. Timmy informs them that they have an urgent mission, orders from Codatorta, and Sky must get to Red Fountain as soon as possible: they are already starting their engines.

The Specialists headed to the mountains in single-seater ships. The nightmares had arrived from the Realm of Dreams again, and the boys' job was to destroy them before they spread across the dimension. Sky was absent-minded, flying too low, and he was reprimanded several times over the communications bridge. The specialists' target should be in the valley, the commander's voice urged everyone to be vigilant, because they did not know what form the nightmares had taken. Ahead of them was a huge web, which partially covered the mountains. Sky crashed his ship into a web and was forced to flee through the cracks in the canyon mountains from a swarm of nightmare spiders until he was rescued by Diaspro and Bloom.

The Nightmare Spiders were gigantic in size, had a pink-purple abdomen and light blue walking legs, as well as yellow angry eyes.

Trivia[]

  • The responsible task of the Specialists (in addition to guarding and caring for animals in the Wild Lands) is to protect Magix and the schools from the real threat of nightmares, a small part of which does not disappear when the inhabitants of the dimensions awaken, but wanders and ends up in the Reality of Dreams, from where it finds its way into the real world. Specialists do not always know what they will encounter and what form the nightmares will take.
  • Once in this dimension, a person subject to a nightmare will experience obsessive thoughts until they overcome their nightmare and finds harmony.
    • Bloom was afraid of Miss Sagant and so she ran and hid, even knowing that she was not real and they needed to save Aisha.
    • Stella, having forgotten about the mission, was obsessed with the idea that Brandon was cheating on her with a more attractive girl. She was afraid to face the truth and cried because she thought she was old and ugly.
    • Musa began looking for the lost flute everywhere (even in the trash can), worried that she would ruin the concert and let her father down, who would be angry about it. Because of the impossibility of finding it, she began to cry bitterly.
  • Doctor Morpheus is a specialist in matters concerning this dimension and dream magic, the Guardian of Dreams. He lives on the border of endless worlds, and to get to his house-laboratory, one must create a door on any street between the thirteenth and fifteenth zip codes. Morpheus manipulates dreams and nightmares, creating cures for people who have trouble sleeping.
  • In the Dark Forest lives the oldest Dream Turtle, whose shell is of great importance for the magical arts: "if you scratch it, you get a special powder - the Golden Dream Powder. This magic powder creates beautiful dreams if you sprinkle it on your eyes before you fall asleep... But if it falls into the wrong hands, it gives the owner the ability to control other people's dreams."[citation needed]
  • The Dark Forest is home to a rare[citation needed] dream-eating butterfly that feeds on the dreams of living creatures and brings them to life.
