Winx Club Wiki
Forums: Index > Watercooler > Adding References to the Wiki articles

Hi, I want to propose the adoption of the use of reference tags for all our articles just like how Wikipedia and other Fandom Wikis do for their articles.

However, I don't think we should do that only because I want to copy what other Wikis do. I think we should starting using reference tags because I think they are very useful because they provide a source for the information on the articles so everyone can verify if the information is real or not. The Winx Club Wiki is supposed to be a professional source on Winx Club, and every professional encyclopedia includes references and sources so its information can be verified.

And sometimes inexperienced users or trolls add false information to the Wiki and we are not always able to spot them to remove or correct them. If we have references to the original source of the information, it will make it easier to remove or correct mistakes and false information.

And when I was away from the Winx Club Wiki, I also found out that the Winx Club Wiki has a bad reputation in the broader Winx Club fandom, and they say it is because we often have inaccurate information or we are not professional enough. I have been editing the Winx Club Wiki for 10 years and I feel bad when fans get bad information from the Wiki and when they feel we are not trustworthy, and I think making references and sources necessary for all the information added to the articles on the Winx Club Wiki will help solving this problem.
