On September 17, 2019,, Raidió Teilifís Éireann and the Irish Examiner reported that filming for Fate: The Winx Saga had started on the same day, on September 17, 2019, in Wicklow, Republic of Ireland.[4][5][6][2]

In October 2019, Backstage revealed that the season will be co-directed by Hannah Quinn and Lisa James Larsson.[7]

In November 2019, The Irish Times reported that filming for Fate: The Winx Saga was done at Ardmore Studios, located in Bray, County Wicklow, Republic of Ireland.[8]

Filming for the first season of the series ended in December 2019,[9] and Cinesite was still working on the visual effects in April and May 2020 despite the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic[10][11][12].

In August 2020, the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore reported that Fate: The Winx Saga will be released in 2021.

On September 16, 2020, the Licensing Summit Online in Russia reveals that Fate: The Winx Saga will premiere on Netflix in January 2021 and will be dubbed into 32 languages. It is also stated that they planned to launch a book based on the show.
