Silke is one of the talents who appears in World of Winx. She is the fifth talent the Winx had discovered to not have been kidnapped by the Queen.

Appearance[]

Silke has short, gold hair tied into two pigtails, a medium complexion, brown eyes and freckles.

She is only seen in her ski outfit which consists of a red and white ski jacket, red fingerless gloves, black ski pants, and red and gray below-knee snowboard boots.

Personality[]

Although a cheerful person, Silke is actually insecure; the opinions of other people matter greatly to her. She thinks that if she were to compete and win a snowboarding competition, people would like her. Stubborn to a fault, she was unwilling to give up the competition despite her noticeable lack of talent for it. At the same time, it demonstrates her determination.

An insightful person, she quickly figures out what Aisha really wanted to say about her snowboarding skills but still proceeds to falsely believe that she is talent at something she is not. Silke also finds being a watchmaker to be an unnecessary skill but is very knowledgeable and talented at it. She is wise, intelligent, and thinks outside of the box which was how she fixed the Magic Watch. Judging by how she disarmed the Watchtower's defense mechanism, it can be assumed that she has great memory.

She cares deeply for the people she loves and immediately went to check on her uncle after learning he was in danger.

Season 1[]

WOW11 (Aisha and Silke)

Silke upset that she will be considered a failure.

Silke is seen in the Winx's Dreamix Vision; she is their next talent. She is busy running a course for the International Snowboarding Competition but unlike her fellow snowboardists, she does not perform any fancy tricks, struggles with balance and appears to lack confidence but her drive is there (according to Aisha). She then slips and falls. She is then approached by Aisha who gives her advice and encouragement. When Aisha introduces herself and her friends, Silke exclaims in excitement, as she is actually meeting the stars of Wow!. Silke tells Aisha her name and that it was always a dream of hers to participate in the show.

As they walk towards the long jump ramp, Silke once again tell Aisha that she really wants to be a talent on Wow! but dejectedly admits she has made too many mistakes to possibly be one. After listening to Aisha's advice on how to perform the long jump, she asks if by following her advice she can then perform it? Silke notices how Aisha is choosing her words carefully; she concludes that she cannot win. Aisha then warns her - if she were to do it wrong, she could seriously injure herself. Looking at the height of the ramp, Silke realizes that Aisha is correct but expresses to her that if she were to back out, people would see her as a coward. But Aisha tells her that she does not have to prove anything and that right now, she just needs more experience.

SilkeFailsCompetition-WOW111

Silke fails the competition.

That is when Silke asks if Aisha thinks she can do it. Once again, she notices Aisha hesitating. She gets what she wants to say but tries to ignore it and comments on needing to practice more. The thing is, when it is her turn to do the long jump, she stops just as the ramp ends. Thus, failing the competition.

In "The Watchmaker", Silke mopes after having lost miserably on Wow!, apologizing to the Winx for ruining their show. When Bloom calls Stella on her Winxwatch and Stella cannot hear due to too much static, Silke takes it from her and taps it a few times until the light in the Winxwatch turns green. She tells Stella that is works and they can hear what Bloom is saying clearly. The Winx point out that Bloom may be talking about the Watchmaker’s tower being under attack and Silke asks if that means her uncle is in danger. She reveals that she has been working as his apprentice for years, and Aisha smiles and says that must be what her true talent is. Silke dejectedly responds that she had always wanted to be a snowboarding champion, but Aisha tells her that while she cannot be something she is not, she can make the most of her natural talent. Flora asks if she can bring them to her uncle, and she agrees.

WOW12 (Silke With a Spare Key)

Silke has the spare key to her uncle's Tower!

On the way up the mountain, Stella asks if Silke could call her uncle, but she answers that he does not have a mobile. Stella asks if he has any manner of modern technology, such as a tablet or a TV, and Silke says he does not. They reach a bridge on the way to the Watchmaker’s tower and Silke walks on a magic symbol that causes it to explode. Silke falls, but Flora uses her magic to grow vines to catch her, bring her up to the mountain where they were before, and serve as a new bridge. Flora helps Silke get up, and Silke asks who they are really. Aisha says that they cannot tell everyone what they are, but Detective Evans comes out and says that they are fairies like their friend, Bloom.

WOW12 (Silke Fixed The Watch!)

Silke fixes the watch!

They find a watch on the ground, and it is given to Silke to fix. She says it looks too complicated for her to fix, but says that her uncle may know what to do. Detective Gómez says that Werner had barricaded himself in his tower, and Silke produces a key and unlocks the door. Silke, Gómez, Evans, and the Winx enter the tower to discover that the defense mechanisms have been activated. Stella steps on a tile and causes a giant pendulum to come swinging her and Aisha’s way. Silke runs to the controls and begins trying to deactivate it, asking only for a few seconds. She finishes deactivating it, and her uncle appears. She runs to hug him and asks if he is okay, and he says that he’s fine. The Winx ask him to fix their watch, but he says it does not seem possible. Silke tells him that every broken watch can be fixed, and tries fixing it herself. She succeeds when she sees that it is turning counterclockwise, and her uncle compliments her skills. She happily accepts the compliment but also tells her uncle that it is because she learned the best from him.

She wishes the Winx good luck on their mission to rescue the kidnapped talents but is shocked to see that the watch actually opened a portal, leaving her astonished.

Trivia[]

  • She is the only talent who is not present during the Wow! finals as she was voted off the show for not completing the long jump.
  • Her voice actress, Sarah Natochenny was slated to voice Venomya, a minor antagonist in Season 2 of World of Winx but this was changed for unknown reasons.
  • Silke's name is of German origin, a dimunitive of Frisian Caecilia (derived from the male version Caecilius) and German Celia. It means “blind” (from Latin “caecus”), “of the Caecilius family” and “heavenly” (from Latin “caelum” = heaven).[2]
