The Aeolian Islands[]
Scene: Mission Control Room[]
Musa: The voice was talking about seven islands. Volcanoes, a white beach and the wind blowing inside a cave.
Bloom: If we're going to solve this mystery, we'll have to find the other seven gems.
Tecna: This is the Aeolian archipelago in Sicily. It's made of seven beautiful volcanic islands: Lipari, Panarea, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Alicudi, and Filicudi.
Stella: And you think the next gem is on one of these islands hm?
Tecna: Musa's clues "the wind inside a cave" and "a white beach" points to Lipari, the largest of the islands.
Musa: We have our target. Let's go.
Scene: Lipari[]
- Musa, Flora, and Tecna head to Lipari*
Tecna: Careful. Erupting volcanoes can be dangerous.
Flora: Relax, Tecna. This volcano hasn't erupted in over a hundred years. Oh!
Tecna: Huh? And those are fumaroles. They only vent steam and volcanic gases. Lucky for us.
Flora: I can see Lipari. We're almost there! It's a natural paradise with plenty of history, too.
- They land on Yacht Harbor Lipari. Musa shows hologram from her wristwatch*
Musa: That's right. In fact, the Aeolian Islands were recognized as a World Heritage site in the year 2000. In ancient times, the god of the wind, Aeolus, is supposed to have hidden his winds somewhere on this island. And when those winds got out, they were strong enough to separate Sicily from the rest of Italy.
Flora: You mean like the tramontane, the cold wind from the north?
Tecna: No no no. North is that way.
Musa: Well, one of you has to be wrong.
Tecna: I'm never wrong about this stuff.
- She opens a holo-compass*
Tecna: It's not working!
Musa: Maybe the sun can help us.
- They fly to the White Beach*
Flora: It's so... so... white!
Tecna: It's a side effect of the pumice stone quarry that used to be around here.
Musa: Yes! This beach is perfect.
- She lands on the beach and Tecna and Flora follow her*
Musa: To figure out which way is north, first, we put a stick in the sand. Like this. Now, we just have to wait a few minutes. Since the sun in the sky is moving east to west, this shadow will be moving west to east.
Flora: Huh.
Tecna: Oh!
Musa: Now, let's draw a 'W' by the starting spot and an 'E' by the new one, like this.
Flora: We're making a solar compass!
Musa: Exactly. Tecna, please put your left foot on the 'W' and your right foot on the 'E'
- Tecna follows Musa's words*
Musa: That's it! Now you're facing north. And behind you...
Flora & Tecna: It's south!
- The stick used to make the solar compass disappears and a reddish orange gem appears in the stick's place*
Flora: Mission accomplished!
- The girls leave*
Tecna: We have to get back and tell the others about this island, about Aeolus' winds, and about Musa saving the day with an ordinary stick.
Scene: Mission Control Room[]
Flora: She used it to make a compass and find the missing gem.
Bloom: Nice work, Musa.
Musa: I'd like to point out that neither Flora nor Tecna were right about which way was north. But together, we found the answer.
Flora: That's right. Today we learned that we are better together.
Tecna: And with a little teamwork, we can solve any mystery.
Stella: So, who's thinking about the Aeolian Islands for our next vacation?
Flora: Yes! You have to see that wonderful white beach! Huh!
Bloom: What's wrong, Flora?
Flora: The voice! I can hear it.
Stella: Ooh! Ready for a new adventure?
