Plot[]
In the early morning, Roxy requests the fairy animals to come to her dorm room. She hopes to find answers to the Ultimate Power of the Fairy Animals (the power that Kalshara is desperately seeking for) and also get to know Squonk, Shiny, Critty, and Amarok better. But she notices Critty is missing and heads for the Winx's room, where she is invited to have breakfast with them from Bloom. Roxy politely declines and finds Critty, laying peacefully on Musa's lap. When Roxy reminds her of the meeting, Critty angrily approaches her. Her morning temper is soothed by Musa's singing.
In her absence, Amarok, Shiny, and Roxy's yaffles get into a fight, which ends up breaking one of the magic globes. Now, there is no way to know if any animals are in danger. Tecna however, is certain her parents, who are experts in technomagic, can fix it. The Winx travel to Zenith and also bump into Timmy at her parents' house. Electronio had invited him over because of his technological prowess are a great asset to their inventions.
Tecna is glad that he is here because she needs his help and shows him the broken magic globe. After taking a closer look, while it did take a big blow, it can still be fixed. Which is good news for the Winx because they can keep up with their enemies.
Meanwhile, Kalshara and Brafilius resumes their search for the animal with the First Color of the Universe. Brafilius complains about the time it will take if they visit the worlds where the fairy animals live. Kalshara then forces Brafilius to go back in time when fairy animals did not exist on Zenith. Inside Zenith's core, Brafilius sees the origin of Technomagic - a glowing orb with flying techsquirrels that maintain it. Brafilius uses magic to pull one out and analyze it. The results are negative for the animal with the First Color of the Universe. He torments the fairy animal out of frustration and who escapes his clutches, he starts zooming around Brafilius to try to intimidate him. Brafilius is unbothered and pulls out his stone to return to his time period only for it be snatched by the flying techsquirrel. He angry shouts at it to return it. The techsquirrel chews on it but sees it is useful and throws it into one of the pipes. Brafilius tries get it out but only causes the pipe to fall on him.
While Brafilius wallows in his pain, another problem arises: the core is losing its stability! Forcibly removing one of the techsquirrel destabilized it and while the animal desperately tries to re-enter the orb, the hard shell prevents it. The energy distributed by the core changes, causing everything on Zenith to malfunction. The Winx's stones of memories shine, informing the Winx that one of its own has been activated. The Winx travel to that time period, they come across the core and the techsqurriels. According to Tecna, these squirrels controlled Zenith's ancient core by orbiting around it, which creates kinetic energy. She also notices the problem, which was created by Brafilius. Tecna asks the techsquirrel who had done this and he leads her to the now trapped Brailius. As the Winx question Brafilius, the core is reaching its optimal instability, the mechanisms are breaking apart. The girls transform but preoccupied by preventing the mechanism from crushing them. The techsquirrel tries to reach the core and almost gets crushed by the falling gears but is saved by Tecna.
Musa inquires Tecna on how to repair the core who explains that she needs to make it spin again and that requires assistance. Their friends are busy but the techsquirrel offers his assistance. Tecna uses her special Butterflix spell allowing her to become positive energy and contain the core's unstable energy. With the unstable energy contained, the techsqurriels recreates energy. Both balancing the core's energy and returning it to normal. This feat impresses even Brafilius. The mechanisms float back to their proper places. Unfortunately, the pipe that contained Roxy's stolen stone of memory blows it back into Brafilius's hands and he escapes with it. Angering Aisha who noticed but failed to stop him. Tecna returns from the core and Bloom tells her everything is back to normal. The techsquirrel reveals his name, Flitter and bonds with Tecna. Nature made changes to the core and now the only four techsqurriels are needed to maintain the core.
The girls return to their present time and see that the mess created by the machines are still there. Magnethia assures that it will be cleaned up by hand, teasing Stella who has had less than favorable experiences with the machines. Timmy then shows up to tell them he has made no progress in repairing Roxy's magic sphere. But Flitter takes care of it by wrapping his magic on it, much to the shock of everyone. Timmy exclaims it would take him forever to do that. He steps closer to examine it, but steps on something and falls. Causing the girls to laughing. Tecna hugs him and says it would unfortunately take even longer to create someone like Timmy. A statement Flitter agrees with, which causes Timmy to laugh wholeheartedly.
